Hiba Ahmed

I am a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where I received my Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction as well as my B.S. in Family Science with a minor in Human Development. My experiences working in different environments of childcare have cultivated my passions and core values of empowering children to recognize their own power, encourage their curiosity, and grow into their own strengths. 

Two Learner Profile attributes that deeply resonate with me are Risk-Taker and Reflective. I believe that stepping out of my comfort zone without being sure of the outcome has led me to my best experiences, so I always try to encourage taking risks for any opportunity. As an educator eager to constantly further my knowledge and growth, being able to self-reflect with an open-mind is my greatest tool for change! I’m a bit of a bookworm and usually spend my free time reading novels or manga. I also enjoy journaling, painting, and cuddling my two cats. I am so thrilled to learn and grow with the Tarbiyah team this year!
