About The Counselor:

My name is Fatima Khan & I am so excited to be the Counselor at Tarbiyah Academy this year!

I am a Nationally Certified Counselor & and Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. I received my MS in Clinical Mental health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and my BS in Psychology and Human Development from the University of Maryland College Park.

I have worked as a Psychotherapist in outpatient mental health centers and private practice, and have experience interning at Kennedy Krieger Institute. I’m lucky to have gotten the chance to work with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with various issues and life problems, and look forward to bringing my experience to help facilitate the holistic growth of our young scholars at TA.

I am also a nature-lover and artist and incorporate mindfulness, creativity, and art therapy techniques into my counseling work.

Over the course of the school year, you will receive newsletters from me 1-2 times a month. The purpose of these newsletters is to provide you with counseling program updates, SEL resources, and information to help support your child’s holistic growth and development.
