Friends of Tarbiyah Academy
Join the FTA: Building Community and Supporting Our School Together!
Here at Tarbiyah Academy parents can get involved through the FTA, similar to a PTA. Friends of Tarbiyah Academy (FTA) is a group of parents, teachers, and staff who work together to support and enhance the educational experience for students.
The FTA organizes events, fundraisers for school programs, provides resources for teachers and students, and fosters a strong sense of community. They also advocate for student needs and help bridge communication between parents and the school administration.
Being part of the FTA allows parents to build relationships with teachers, staff, and other families, creating a sense of belonging and strengthening their connection to the school community.
Benefits to children from having parents involved with the FTA
Improved Academic Performance
When parents are engaged in their child's education, it emphasizes the Islamic value of seeking knowledge (Ilm). This involvement encourages children to excel academically, understanding that education is a form of worship and a way to better serve Allah (SWT).
Enhanced Social Skills
Active participation in school and community activities allows children to practice Islamic values such as kindness, respect, and cooperation (Akhlaq) with peers, teachers, and community members, helping them develop strong social skills.
Increased Confidence and Motivation
When parents show interest in their child’s school life, it nurtures the child’s self-esteem and motivation. They learn that striving for excellence (Ihsan) is a way to please Allah (SWT), and that their efforts are valued both at home and in the community.
Better Behavior
Children with involved parents are more likely to exhibit good behavior, as they are guided by Islamic principles such as honesty, patience, and responsibility (Amanah). This helps them align their actions with the teachings of Islam, leading to fewer behavioral issues.
Stronger School-Home Connection
A close connection between home and school fosters a supportive environment grounded in Islamic values. This connection helps children feel a sense of belonging and responsibility (Ummah), knowing they are part of a community that upholds shared values and principles.
