I am so thrilled to be working as the Tarbiyah Academy Counselor! I received my B.S. in Psychology & Human Development from University of Maryland, College Park and my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I’ve worked with children & adolescents in different settings including as a psychotherapist at outpatient mental health clinics, as a teacher, and as a mentor. I enjoy making art in my free time and incorporate creativity and mindfulness into my counseling practice. My approach to counseling is holistic and strengths-based, and I am excited to work with the school community on student wellness and social and emotional development.

I resonate most with the Learner Profiles of being Open-Minded and Caring. I believe practicing empathy and trying to understand the viewpoints of others are great ways to practice our faith and also challenge ourselves to grow mentally and emotionally. Some fun facts about me are that I love to travel, paint, and spend time in nature.
