Middle School Mathematics Teacher

Bassnt Wahba has 20 years of international experience in teaching Math to Middle and High School students in Egypt and Oman. She worked as an instructor at Wor-Wic Community College, Salisbury, MD, teaching ESL and GED courses supporting the Adult Education Program. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Math from Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt, and a second Bachelor’s degree in English Writing and Rhetoric from Salisbury University, Salisbury, MD. 

 

Mrs. Wahba believes strongly in inquiry-based learning and the role of thought-provoking questions in progressive education, particularly when questions encourage students to think critically and validate their understanding of complex subjects. Mrs. Wahba’s teaching philosophy depends on engaging and motivating students, simplifying complex concepts, providing practical and illustrative examples, asking probing questions, and understanding the unique learning style of each student. 

Mrs. Wahba is married and has two daughters. She speaks three languages and enjoys traveling, reading, and writing. Her favorite quote is, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough,” Albert Einstein. 

Mrs. Wahba joined Tarbiyah Academy in 2021 and is currently teaching math, including advanced math classes, to Middle School students.
