Head of School Zara Khan - woman with headscarf
On behalf of the children and the staff, I would like to bid the Tarbiyah Academy Community a warm welcome into the 2018-2019 School Year!

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.  It is with great privilege and pleasure that I assume the Head of School position at Tarbiyah Academy.  Your previous HOS, Ms. Rasha El-Haggan, has left a prestigious precedent of very high standards for me, particularly in the areas of academic excellence, family engagement, students’ love for learning, and a culture and climate of respect and responsibility.  I wish Ms. El-Haggan a heartfelt congratulations on an exceptional tenure at Tarbiyah, and I pray that Allah continue to increase her personally and professionally as she moves on.

Tarbiyah Academy is truly a unique school, blending innovation and research-based practices to produce an authentic American Islamic school. Here we encounter rigorous academic standards alongside daily morning adhkaar, reading improvement alongside a dedicated education in manners, and a robust intellectual curriculum partnered with emphasis on Islamic morals and spirituality.  I am enthused to enroll my own children at this unique and rigorous institution, because I believe in what Tarbiyah has to offer.

You can expect to hear more from me over Summer ’18, and insha’Allah we can meet in person next month when the Tarbiyah Board of Directors and I will happily host you all in a Meet-and-Greet session.  Please feel free to reach out to me as needed, at zkhan@tarbiyahacademy.org.

I pray that Allah guide me to fulfill this trust in a manner that is pleasing to Him and beneficial to the entire community of Tarbiyah families.  All the best wishes from your new Head of School, and as the students supplicate each morning at assembly, “Oh Allah, in You I trust, so help me fulfill my promise!”

Looking forward to a fruitful year,

Zara Khan, Ph.D.
