Tarbiyah Academy is proud to announce its provisional membership in the Association of Independent Maryland & DC Schools (AIMS), marking an exciting milestone in the school’s continued growth and development.

AIMS is a nonprofit organization which supports independent schools across the Maryland and D.C. area through professional development, accreditation services and networking opportunities to help schools strengthen their educational communities.

“As the only Islamic school member of AIMS, I'm excited that Tarbiyah Acadmey's journey will help pave the way for other Islamic schools to join AIMS, ” said Ms. Rasha El-Haggan, Tarbiyah Academy’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our voices are needed in these spaces as integral and contributing members of the Maryland community.”

The AIMS accreditation provides Tarbiyah Academy with an opportunity to engage in a comprehensive, multi-year process of self-evaluation. While IB authorization recognizes the quality of our educational programs, AIMS accreditation will examine the school and its systems as a whole.

This provisional membership reflects Tarbiyah Academy’s commitment to providing the highest caliber of education and continually strengthening its academic programs and school community. As the only Islamic International Baccalaureate (IB) Preschool through 8th Grade school in Maryland, Tarbiyah Academy remains dedicated to shaping productive Muslim leaders of society and is proud to be the only Muslim school member of AIMS.

“On behalf of the AIMS Board of Trustees and the entire community of AIMS member schools, I warmly welcome the Tarbiyah Academy into AIMS membership,” Mr. Peter F. Bailey, the Executive Director of AIMS said. “We are all deeply impressed by your school community and are pleased to have you as a part of the AIMS community.”
